1. Introduction
These General Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the rental of vehicles from CARNak Rentals. By signing or electronically accepting the rental agreement, the customer ("Renter") acknowledges that they have read, understood, and fully accepted these Terms.
2. Driver Age and Driving Licence
The renter and any additional driver must be at least 19 years old.
The driver must hold a valid driving licence for at least 1 year.
Accepted driving licences: EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Israel.
For driving licences issued in non-Latin characters, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.
A valid passport or identity card must be presented upon vehicle collection.
3. Reservations and Vehicle Categories
Reservations are made by vehicle category. A specific vehicle model cannot be guaranteed.
If the selected vehicle is unavailable, a similar vehicle from the same category will be provided.
If no vehicle is available within the same category, a complimentary upgrade may be offered.
4. Rental Duration, Extension and Late Return
The minimum rental period is 24 hours.
Rental extensions are possible upon prior communication with the company.
A grace period of 60 minutes applies after the agreed return time.
In the event of a late return, a full daily rental charge will apply.
No refund is provided in case of early vehicle return.
5. Payment Methods
Accepted payment methods: Credit Card (online), Debit Card (online), PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Cash upon collection, Credit Card upon collection, Debit Card upon collection, Bank Transfer, Iris.
6. Insurance and Security Deposit
Basic Insurance (CDW/TP) is included in the rental price.
Full Insurance is available with an excess of €500.
A security deposit of €300 is required for Full Insurance and may be paid by credit card, debit card or cash.
7. Fuel Policy
Same to Same: The vehicle is delivered with a specific fuel level and must be returned with the same fuel level.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the missing fuel will be charged according to the current local retail fuel price on the return date, plus a €15 refuelling fee.
8. Mileage Policy
The daily mileage limit is 199 km.
An additional charge of €0.10 applies for each extra kilometre.
9. Additional Drivers and Extras
Additional drivers are permitted. All additional drivers must meet the same requirements and be registered in the rental agreement.
The first additional driver is provided free of charge.
Additional driver fee (after the first): €5 per day.
Available car extras:
Baby Seat: €5/day (maximum €45 per booking)
Booster Seat: €5/day (maximum €45 per booking)
Mobile Phone Holder: €3/day (maximum €20 per booking)
Snow Chains: €5/day (maximum €45 per booking)
10. Insurance Exclusions
Insurance coverage DOES NOT apply in the following cases:
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Unauthorised driver.
Off-road driving.
Use of incorrect fuel.
Loss of keys.
Locking the keys inside the vehicle.
Interior damage.
Roof or undercarriage damage.
Failure to report an accident.
11. Accidents, Damages and Traffic Fines
In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately notify the company.
A police report is required for every accident.
The renter must complete and retain the Accident Report Form (Friendly Statement) at the accident scene.
Taking photographs at the accident scene is recommended and/or required.
The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets and toll charges incurred during the rental period.
12. Vehicle Use Restrictions
The rented vehicle may only be used for lawful purposes on suitable public roads.
Only authorised drivers listed in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle.
Pets are not allowed inside the vehicle.
13. Delivery, Collection and Out-of-Hours Service
Available delivery and collection locations are displayed during the booking process. Additional charges may apply for delivery or collection in remote areas away from our main office.
14. Ferry Transport / Travel Restrictions
Transporting or using the vehicle outside the area/island is not permitted.
15. Cancellation, No-Show and Early Return
In the event of a no-show, no refund will be issued.
16. Vehicle Return, Cleanliness and Inspection
The vehicle inspection upon return is carried out in the presence of a company representative.
The vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean condition.
17. Data Protection and Privacy
The company collects and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - EU 2016/679).
Personal data is used exclusively for the purposes of the vehicle rental.
Personal data is shared with third parties only when required by law or with service providers necessary for the operation of the rental service.
18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece.
